Electric Hydrogen, a pioneering manufacturer of high-power electrolyzer plants, has announced a strategic partnership with Titan Production Equipment, a leading Texas-based process equipment manufacturer, to accelerate the production and deployment of its groundbreaking 100 megawatt (MW) electrolyzer plants. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the burgeoning hydrogen industry.
The partnership centers around the fabrication and assembly of Electric Hydrogen’s first commercial 100MW Plant at Titan’s state-of-the-art facility in Columbus, Texas. This modularized manufacturing approach is designed to deliver a cost-effective solution, promising up to 60% lower total installed costs for electrolytic hydrogen compared to existing alternatives. By leveraging Titan’s expertise in high-volume chemical equipment production and rigorous quality control, Electric Hydrogen aims to ensure the reliable and rapid deployment of its advanced technology.
The completion of the 100MW Plant at Titan’s facility not only demonstrates the viability of this innovative manufacturing model but also highlights the tangible benefits of the growing hydrogen industry for the Texas economy. Notably, this project has created over 300 well-paying jobs in the state, utilizing the same skilled workforce and expertise that Titan traditionally employed for oil and gas infrastructure projects. This transition underscores the potential for existing energy sector businesses to adapt and thrive in the emerging hydrogen market.
A key aspect of Electric Hydrogen’s approach is the pre-assembly and pre-testing of its fully-integrated 100MW Plants before shipment to customer sites. This modular design and manufacturing strategy, facilitated by Titan’s capabilities, ensures that the plants are delivered ready for rapid deployment, minimizing on-site installation time and costs.
Raffi Garabedian, CEO and Co-founder of Electric Hydrogen, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, stating, “By combining Electric Hydrogen’s proprietary advanced technology with Titan’s world-class process equipment fabrication expertise and facilities, we are able to deliver a superior electrolyzer solution at half the cost of others in the market.” This cost reduction is crucial for making green hydrogen economically competitive and accelerating its widespread adoption.
Chris Werner, CEO of Titan, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and its potential to drive the American hydrogen economy. “Our team’s deep expertise and commitment to scalability through standardized processes are closely aligned with Electric Hydrogen’s modular product offering and we are thrilled to be bringing the 100MW Plant to customers,” Werner said. This collaboration exemplifies how established manufacturing firms can play a pivotal role in scaling up the production of critical technologies for the clean energy transition.
