NT Minerals Limited announced the finalization of plans for their second field program at the Twin Peaks Project, located 200 kilometers northeast of Geraldton, Western Australia. The program is scheduled to begin in late November, the company announced on November 25.
The Twin Peaks Project covers the known extent of the Twin Peaks Greenstone Belt, which boasts geological similarities to the Golden Grove Cu-Zn-Pb-Ag-Au deposit. Historical exploration activities identified promising copper potential, with small-scale mining conducted for direct shipping ore (DSO) Fe-material at the Woolbung Peak pit.
The project holds potential for a variety of mineralization styles, including copper, gold, base metals, and iron ore. The upcoming program will target five priority areas identified through a comprehensive review of historical data, including geological mapping, geochemistry, geophysics, and drilling.
At the request of 10M Limited, the ultimate owner of the Twin Peaks Project, NT Minerals will acquire a 50% interest in Deepsea Australia Pty Ltd, the holder of the Twin Peaks Tenements, by fulfilling exploration program funding requirements and maintaining the tenements in good standing.
Target Areas:
1. Twin Peaks Copper Workings: This area boasts historical copper production between 1906 and 1960, averaging an impressive 16% copper grade. Despite promising potential, only limited drilling has been conducted, leaving significant opportunity for further exploration and resource development.
2. Woolbung Peak Gravity Anomalies: This target presents a DSO-style opportunity with massive to semi-massive hematite BIF horizons. Previous exploration by 10M Pty Ltd successfully shipped over 59,000 wet metric tonnes of iron ore grading 61.9% Fe from the Woolbung Peak deposit. Geophysical data suggests the potential for similar mineralization to the south and northeast of the existing pit.
3. Premiership Gravity Target: Located southwest of the Woolbung Peak Hematite Open Pit, this 900-meter anomaly exhibits a coincident magnetic high. While historical exploration was conducted, it was largely ineffective due to shallow drilling depths.
4. Gatherwell Target: This target is defined by a +3km low-order gold anomaly with coincident antimony, arsenic, and bismuth anomalies identified through historical geochemical sampling. The anomaly is believed to be within residual material, potentially obscured by a lateritic hard pan.
"In line with our comprehensive strategic review and the progress on the resolution of legacy issues, the Company is now fully committed to advancing our core objectives: building our project portfolio, enhancing our asset base, and strengthening our financial position," said NTM Managing Director Rodney Illingworth. "The Twin Peaks Project is a pivotal asset that solidifies our presence in the mid-west of WA, offering us a unique advantage with its shorter timeframes and cost-efficient path to resource identification. This project will enable us to swiftly progress from exploration to development, production, and, ultimately, significant cash flow. We are confident in our vision and capabilities to drive sustained growth and success for the Company."
