Situated in Thetford, Norfolk, Peerless Plastics and Coatings is gaining substantial ground within the manufacturing sector, driven by its inventive product offerings and unwavering dedication to sustainability. The company's journey to success and its plans for further expansion were recently highlighted during a visit by Lord Dominic Johnson, the Minister for Investment at the Department for Business and Trade, and Liz Truss MP, representing Southwest Norfolk.
One of Peerless's standout products is "PolyGuard," a range of specialist hard-coated polycarbonate sheets developed and marketed by the company. These sheets have found applications across various industries globally, from being used as a lightweight, shatter-proof alternative to glass in electric vehicles to serving as essential components in personal protection equipment, including face shields and safety glasses.
Over the past 24 months, Peerless has made substantial investments, totaling nearly $1216752, in new business ventures, machinery, and technology. These investments have allowed the company to grow its workforce from 30 to over 50 employees. With this growth, Peerless is now poised for rapid expansion on a global scale.
The Peerless Plastics & Coatings team, led by Managing Director Peter Llewellyn-Stamp and Sales Director Max Bromley, provided Lord Johnson with an overview of the company's diverse range of services, catering to a wide array of industries. Peerless has diversified its offerings to provide a single-source solution for many plastic manufacturing requirements. This approach streamlines supply chains and, importantly, reduces the carbon footprint associated with its customers' products. Sustainability is a key focus for Peerless, and the company has taken significant steps to reduce energy usage through initiatives such as solar panels for renewable energy and voltage optimization to minimize consumption.
PolyGuard, the company's latest innovation, is a unique range of products ready for international distribution. It comprises specialist hard-coated polycarbonate sheets designed to offer superior surface performance, making them a sustainable plastic solution for various applications. The PolyGuard range includes six coated polycarbonate products: Hard, Anti-Static/ESD, NIR Blocking, Anti-Fog, Anti-Glare, and Formable.
Lord Johnson, the Minister for Investment, expressed his enthusiasm for his visit to Peerless Plastics' factory, commending the company for its innovations and impressive growth. He highlighted the tremendous export opportunities that lie ahead and recognized Peerless Plastics as a prime example of the innovation driving manufacturing in the UK. Lord Johnson also underscored the government's support for businesses like Peerless Plastics, emphasizing their vision for growth and expansion on a global scale.
