In a groundbreaking move, EQTEC has forged a transformative joint venture with CompactGTL, an esteemed specialist in synthesizing fuels from gases. The announcement resulted in an extraordinary 82% surge in EQTEC's shares on the very same day. Earlier in the day, the stocks of this waste-to-gas specialist experienced a notable leap, driven by news that its Italian subsidiary had secured approval to access €2.9 million in loan funds. This financial infusion is earmarked for the execution of EQTEC's growth plan.

The strategic joint venture with CompactGTL is poised to center its efforts on developing an integrated waste-to-liquid fuel solution. This innovative solution will be grounded in EQTEC's syngas technology and CompactGTL's expertise in gas-to-liquid conversion technology. The ownership structure of this venture is set at an equitable 50/50 split, with a targeted focus on the transport sector, particularly the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

A crucial initial step in the collaboration involves the establishment of a consortium of investors. This consortium will play a pivotal role in funding the creation of a commercial-scale reference plant. The primary objective of this plant is to validate the viability and efficacy of the waste-to-liquid fuel solution, as outlined in the official statement released by the companies.

The collaborative efforts between EQTEC and CompactGTL trace back to 2022 when they commenced work at EQTEC's syngas pilot plant located at LERMAB in France. Notably, the two entities have already completed the essential feasibility work required for the reference plant. This Reference Plant is anticipated to process an impressive 150 tonnes per day of refuse-derived fuel sourced from municipal waste. The outcome of this process is expected to yield 160 barrels per day of synthetic crude, showcasing an impressive 90% annual operational efficiency.

Should this endeavor proceed as planned, the synthetic crude derived from the reference plant will undergo further refinement processes. The ultimate goal is to produce 11,700 liters per day of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), along with 8,650 liters per day of diesel and 5,000 liters per day of naphtha. This multifaceted output underscores the versatility and potential impact of the joint venture in contributing to sustainable fuel solutions across various sectors.

EQTEC's strategic alliance with CompactGTL represents a significant leap forward in the pursuit of sustainable fuel solutions. The collaborative venture not only spurred a remarkable surge in EQTEC's stock value but also sets the stage for groundbreaking advancements in waste-to-liquid fuel technology. With a clear focus on the transport sector and the production of sustainable aviation fuel, this joint venture holds promise for reshaping the landscape of eco-friendly energy solutions. As the companies embark on the next phase of establishing a commercial-scale reference plant, the industry watches with anticipation, recognizing the potential of this collaboration to drive positive change in the realm of renewable energy.
