Following the successful completion of a joint feasibility study, the two companies are initiating preparatory steps for the construction of a new, commercial-scale production facility dedicated to bio-based isoprene and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

The proposed facility, for which multiple potential locations are currently under evaluation, will leverage Visolis’ proprietary fermentation and downstream processing technology. This innovative approach promises to deliver high-purity isoprene and SAF through a bio-based route, marking a crucial advancement in the quest for more sustainable alternatives to traditional petrochemical-derived products.

This development builds upon the established partnership between Zeon and Visolis, which has focused on the research and development of next-generation, bio-based materials. The recently concluded feasibility study has validated the competitive edge of Visolis’ technology platform for producing both isoprene and SAF at a commercially viable scale.
