Vallourec, a leading provider of tubular solutions, has recently finalized a contractual agreement with TotalEnergies for the provision of casing, tubing, and related accessories for the initial phase of the Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) in Iraq, according to an announcement made on January 16.

Pursuant to the terms of this significant contract, Vallourec is slated to supply a total of 15,000 tonnes of diverse tubes and connections designated for the first thirty wells of the GGIP. These essential components will be procured from Vallourec's cutting-edge manufacturing facilities situated in Brazil and Europe. The anticipated commencement of deliveries is scheduled for the year 2024.

The Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) is a comprehensive initiative involving an estimated investment of approximately $10 billion. The primary objective of GGIP is to design and construct facilities geared towards the recovery of substantial volumes of flared gas across the Basra region. Simultaneously, the project aims to channel the reclaimed gas to power stations. Additionally, GGIP encompasses the establishment of a seawater treatment and distribution system, facilitating the supply of treated water for injection into oil reservoirs to support pressure maintenance activities.

The consortium overseeing the execution of GGIP comprises key entities, with Basra Oil Company holding a 30% stake, TotalEnergies serving as the operator with a 45% interest, and QatarEnergy contributing with a 25% ownership share.

This collaborative endeavor underscores the strategic partnership between Vallourec and TotalEnergies, as they work collectively on a project of paramount importance within Iraq's energy landscape. The contract solidifies Vallourec's pivotal role in providing the crucial tubular solutions essential for the successful implementation of the GGIP's initial phase.

The tubes and connections supplied by Vallourec are integral components that contribute to the efficiency and reliability of the oil and gas infrastructure being developed as part of the GGIP. The selection of Vallourec as a key supplier highlights the company's reputation for delivering high-quality tubular solutions and its commitment to contributing to major energy projects on a global scale.

As the deliveries are set to commence in 2024, Vallourec is gearing up to meet the specified requirements and deadlines outlined in the contract. The collaboration between Vallourec and TotalEnergies, within the broader framework of the GGIP consortium, exemplifies a collective commitment to sustainable and impactful energy initiatives that align with the evolving needs of the region.

Vallourec's contract with TotalEnergies for the Gas Growth Integrated Project in Iraq signifies a significant milestone in the company's trajectory, affirming its position as a key player in providing essential tubular solutions for major energy projects worldwide. As the GGIP progresses, Vallourec's contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the success of this transformative initiative, contributing to Iraq's energy security and sustainable development goals.
