Titan, a prominent supplier of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and liquefied biomethane (LBM), has achieved a significant milestone by completing its inaugural SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) bunkering operation in Belgium. This landmark event involved the successful delivery of 180 metric tons of LNG to the newly built vessel, THUN VETTERN, as reported by Marine Traffic.
SIMOPS refers to the process of fueling a vessel with LNG while simultaneously carrying out other activities at the port or on the vessel itself. This method enhances operational efficiency by reducing bunkering time, enabling faster turnaround for vessels at the port. Titan's FLEXFUELLER 001, a state-of-the-art bunker barge, facilitated this operation, marking the first time Titan has conducted LNG bunkering at the Seatank terminal in Ghent, Belgium.
This operation also represented the debut of the THUN VETTERN receiving LNG bunkering in Northern Europe. Titan, known for its regular use of Flexfueler bunker barges, typically operates within the ARA (Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp) region, where these barges service a wide range of vessels. The successful completion of this SIMOPS bunkering not only demonstrates Titan's commitment to advancing LNG supply efficiency but also highlights the company's capability to support new and existing vessels with cutting-edge bunkering solutions.
Titan's ability to perform SIMOPS bunkering effectively underscores the company's strategic focus on optimizing LNG delivery processes. By minimizing downtime and maximizing throughput, Titan enhances the operational efficiency of its clients and contributes to the broader goal of advancing cleaner energy solutions in the maritime industry.
This achievement in Ghent reflects Titan's growing footprint in the European LNG market and its ongoing efforts to expand its service offerings across key international ports. As Titan continues to leverage its advanced technology and operational expertise, the company is well-positioned to play a leading role in the global LNG and LBM supply sectors, driving innovation and efficiency in energy provisioning for the maritime industry.
Since its founding in Amsterdam in 2012, Titan has established itself as a leading supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied biomethane (LBM), also known as BioLNG. Titan specializes in delivering comprehensive clean fuel solutions to the shipping industry, encompassing project planning, supply and delivery, as well as risk management and hedging services to address price volatility. As an independent entity, Titan collaborates with various providers of low-carbon and carbon-neutral marine fuels, ensuring dependable availability and supply across the globe. Titan is dedicated to fostering a cleaner future by providing LNG and BioLNG (LBM) to shipping and industry today, with plans to supply hydrogen-derived fuels in the future.
