Technip Energies has secured a substantial contract from Blue Point Number One, a collaborative venture involving CF Industries, JERA, and MITSUI & CO, to spearhead the engineering and construction of the Blue Point Number One ATR Project in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. This project marks a pivotal moment in the advancement of low-carbon ammonia production, aiming to establish the world's largest facility of its kind, capable of producing approximately 1.4 million metric tons of ammonia annually.

Technip Energies' role encompasses the comprehensive engineering, procurement, equipment supply, and module fabrication for the production plant. The company will leverage its proven expertise in modularization techniques and its commitment to project delivery excellence to ensure the project's success. A key aspect of this endeavor involves the integration of Topsoe's SynCOR AmmoniaTM technology, a state-of-the-art solution that Technip Energies is well-equipped to incorporate into large-scale industrial projects.

The Blue Point Number One ATR Project is designed to achieve a CO2 recovery rate exceeding 95%, representing a significant leap forward in reducing the carbon footprint of ammonia production. This low-carbon ammonia will serve to meet the anticipated surge in global demand across both traditional and emerging applications. Ammonia's viability as a low-cost liquid energy carrier, compared to alternative hydrogen transport methods, positions it as a crucial component in the transition to cleaner energy sources.

The enhanced technological capabilities of this project will contribute to the broader adoption of ammonia as a sustainable, low-carbon solution in various sectors, including power generation and marine fuels. This expansion will play a critical role in addressing the growing need for environmentally responsible energy alternatives.

Arnaud Pieton, CEO of Technip Energies, expressed enthusiasm about the company's involvement in this landmark project, highlighting its significance for the low-carbon ammonia industry. He emphasized Technip Energies' ability to deliver large-scale facilities that integrate cutting-edge technologies. By utilizing their modularization expertise and commitment to project delivery, they are facilitating the scalable production of low-carbon ammonia. Pieton underscored Technip Energies' role in the global effort towards pragmatic and ambitious decarbonization, positioning the company as a key player in the transition to a sustainable energy future.

Technip Energies is a global leader in technology and engineering, specializing in LNG, hydrogen, ethylene, sustainable chemistry, and CO2 management. The company supports key sectors including energy, decarbonization, and circularity. With two core segments—Technology, Products and Services (TPS) and Project Delivery—Technip Energies transforms innovation into industrial-scale solutions. Operating in 34 countries with over 17,000 employees, the company is dedicated to delivering sustainable progress through collaboration and operational excellence. In 2024, Technip Energies reported €6.9 billion in revenue. It is listed on Euronext Paris, with American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) traded over the counter in the United States.
