Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) has signed a three-party Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Banas Dairy, headquartered in Banaskantha district, Gujarat. This agreement aims to establish the fifth biogas production plant and promote rural mobility services using biogas. The initiative is part of Suzuki’s commitment to contributing to carbon neutrality in India, leveraging biogas as a sustainable energy source to support rural transportation and reduce carbon emissions.

A formal ceremony commemorating the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place today at Banas Dairy's Sanadar facility in Gujarat. Key executives from the involved parties were in attendance, including Banas Dairy Chairman Shankar Chaudhary, NDDB Executive Director S Rajeev, and Suzuki’s President Toshihiro Suzuki. Approximately 2,500 dairy farmers from nearby farms were also present, highlighting the community's involvement and support for this sustainable initiative.

The collaboration among Suzuki Motor Corporation, Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Banas Dairy focuses on enhancing sustainability in Gujarat's Banaskantha district by setting up a total of five biogas production plants. This initiative is part of a broader effort to foster rural mobility services that use biogas as a clean and cost-effective fuel for Maruti Suzuki's CNG vehicles. The new service will initially operate within the Banaskantha district, aiming to improve transportation access for rural communities while promoting environmentally friendly practices. By integrating biogas technology, the project supports carbon neutrality goals and offers substantial benefits to both local farmers and the broader rural population.

President Suzuki emphasized the importance of collaboration with Banas Dairy and NDDB, announcing the launch of two new ventures: a biogas production plant and a rural mobility service. He highlighted that this partnership will harness the collective ideas and expertise of all parties involved to innovate lifestyle solutions and drive the development of the Banaskantha district. The initiative aims to create a sustainable model that benefits the local community while advancing economic and environmental goals.

Suzuki, NDDB, and Banas Dairy are committed to advancing carbon neutrality in India and improving rural transportation. Their ongoing initiatives aim to integrate sustainable practices into local industries and enhance mobility in underserved areas, reflecting a shared dedication to environmental and social progress.

Suzuki Motor Corporation, in partnership with Suzuki R&D Center India, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Banas Dairy, has advanced its sustainability goals by concluding a three-party MoU for a new biogas production plant, the fifth in the series. This project aligns with Suzuki’s commitment to carbon neutrality in India, enhancing clean transportation and supporting rural development.
