Stamicarbon, the leading nitrogen technology licensor and a part of NEXTCHEM (MAIRE Group), has secured a significant contract to revamp a urea production facility in Hulunbuir, China. Hulunbeier New Gold Chemical Co., Ltd. has selected Stamicarbon to provide the Process Design Package for a substantial upgrade of its existing urea plant. This modernization project will utilize Stamicarbon's proprietary NX STAMI Urea™ technology, a cutting-edge solution designed to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in urea production.

A key element of this upgrade will be the integration of Stamicarbon's EVOLVE MELT MP Flash design, a core component of the NX STAMI Urea™ portfolio. This advanced design focuses on optimizing the melt process, leading to significant improvements in operational performance. The EVOLVE MELT MP Flash technology is specifically engineered to minimize process steam consumption, a critical factor in reducing energy costs and environmental impact.

The revamp project will not only enhance the plant's operational efficiency but also significantly increase its production capacity. Following the implementation of Stamicarbon's technology, the plant's output is projected to rise by approximately 26%, boosting its daily urea production from the current level to an impressive 3,600 metric tons per day. This substantial increase in capacity will enable Hulunbeier New Gold Chemical to better meet the growing demand for urea, a vital component in fertilizers and various industrial applications.

In addition to the capacity expansion, the upgrade will deliver substantial energy savings. The integration of the EVOLVE MELT MP Flash design is expected to reduce high-pressure steam consumption by an estimated 15%. This reduction in steam usage translates directly into lower energy costs for the plant operator and contributes to a more sustainable production process. By minimizing energy consumption, the project aligns with the global drive towards more environmentally responsible industrial practices.

Pejman Djavdan, CEO of Stamicarbon, expressed his enthusiasm about the project and its implications for the industry. "This project underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability within the nitrogen industry," he stated. "By applying our extensive knowledge and technical expertise, we strive to assist the industry in meeting the increasing global demand for higher efficiency and a reduced environmental footprint." Djavdan's comments highlight Stamicarbon's dedication to developing and implementing solutions that not only improve operational performance but also contribute to a more sustainable future for the fertilizer industry.

This project in China serves as a testament to Stamicarbon's leadership in providing advanced nitrogen technology solutions. The selection of NX STAMI Urea™ technology by Hulunbeier New Gold Chemical underscores the value proposition of Stamicarbon's offerings, which combine increased capacity, enhanced efficiency, and reduced environmental impact. The successful implementation of this project will further solidify Stamicarbon's position as a key player in driving innovation and sustainability within the global nitrogen fertilizer market.
