Sinopec, China’s leading petrochemical and chemical company has announced to shut its Ethylene plant for maintenance from 1st August to 14 September 2020. The plant is likely to remain off-stream for around 1 and a half month. Ethylene plant of Sinopec is in Henan region and has an installed capacity of 180000 tonnes per year. Reduction in export shipments of the product followed by sufficient level of inventory for the next month provided an ease for the manufacturers to undertake maintenance turnaround without hampering their profit margins. Moreover, the Methanol to Olefins unit of Sinopec with an installed capacity of 600000 tonnes per year is also under maintenance till 22nd October. The maintenance turnaround in plant facilities aim to eradicate malfunctions and safety risks in the units and to ensure efficient operations for next five years. Sinopec Corporation is a supreme petrochemical and chemical company with all upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities. Its Ethylene and Refining capacities are among the top in the world.
