Europe: Pannonia Bio, located in Dunafoldvar, Hungary, is the largest grain biorefinery in Europe, operating on a single site and recognized as a global leader in innovation. Operating a multi-product biorefinery in Hungary, the company plans to make green investments of 200 million euros. The biorefinery is one of the most efficient refineries in the world and has a mission to mitigate environmental impacts while producing high-quality biofuels and other bioproducts. Recently, Pannonia Bio announced that it will invest in the biorefinery's future and continue to focus on research and development in the field. Additionally, the company is preparing for a new Maize harvest from domestic farmers, who can be confident that this year's crop quality and yield will be good due to favourable weather conditions since spring.

In mid-May, it was reported that Hungary had planned to sow an area of 871,000 hectares, with 45% of it located in the North and South Plain regions and 20% in the South Transdanubian region. The spring weather has been favourable for Maize development, with the National Meteorological Service reporting that most parts of the country have received optimal rainfall amounts. However, April-June temperatures have been below the ideal range for Maize growth, resulting in a current total heat deficiency. Despite this, July is still a crucial period for producers due to its significance in weather conditions.

Pannonia Bio, Europe's largest single-site biorefinery located in Dunafoldvar, Hungary, is preparing to launch a major wave of new Maize purchases from domestic farmers in July. Thanks to favorable weather conditions since spring, the company remains confident in this year's crop quality and yield. This comes after last year's drought resulted in a nearly 12% drop in the Maize area throughout Hungary. Pannonia Bio places a high priority on safety and quality, conducting rigorous quality control of raw materials at its Dunafoldvar site. The company sells its products globally and maintains a sharp focus on green investments to mitigate environmental impacts while producing high-quality biofuels and other bioproducts.

The Maize crop is showing promising signs of success this year, according to a company representative at the Hungarian biorefinery Pannonia Bio. This means that farmers who planted Maize made a wise choice this season. The company's commodity procurement representative stated that they will need 250,000-300,000 tonnes of Maize - double last year's volume - to supply their newly operational barley processing plant. Most of the purchases have already been made, reducing export exposure for local farmers. If the favorable weather continues, Pannonia Bio expects that this year's Maize harvest will meet quality and quantity expectations. They plan to start sourcing dried new produce from local producers by the end of September. Pannonia Bio is committed to supporting farmers and promoting environmentally sustainable practices in bioproducts manufacturing.
