Oscillate PLC, a company listed on the Aquis Stock Exchange and focused on hydrogen exploration, has provided an update on its ongoing activities in the Animikie Basin in northern Minnesota. The company’s exploration efforts span approximately 60,000 acres, where it has been making significant progress despite the region’s harsh, low-temperature conditions.
As part of its exploration strategy, Oscillate has gathered and analyzed geological and geophysical data, secured critical land access rights, and deployed advanced soil gas sensing equipment. This technology is being used for shallow soil gas sampling, allowing the company to assess hydrogen potential and identify the most promising areas for further evaluation. Initial data has already indicated the presence of hydrogen, prompting Oscillate to intensify its investigations into zones with the highest potential yields.
The company’s field crew, equipped with GPS instruments, is systematically documenting sampling locations to ensure precise data collection. To further analyze the hydrogen presence, Oscillate plans to conduct gas composition assessments using Gas Chromatography, followed by isotope analysis to determine the origin of the detected hydrogen—should sufficient volumes be found. In addition to soil gas studies, the company is also analyzing hydrogen levels in local groundwater sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the basin’s hydrogen system.
Collaboration with local academic institutions has been instrumental in enhancing Oscillate’s research. By engaging with experts and researchers, the company has been able to refine its approach and deepen its understanding of the geological factors influencing hydrogen accumulation in the region. CEO Robin Birchall expressed confidence in the early findings, highlighting that hydrogen has been detected in both pre- and post-purge data sets, with occasional spikes in concentration. These results suggest the potential for a viable hydrogen system, warranting continued exploration and expanded field activities.
Looking ahead, Oscillate PLC is preparing to ramp up its exploration efforts in 2025. With a well-structured plan and solid financial backing, the company aims to build on its initial success and advance its understanding of the Animikie Basin’s hydrogen resources. The next phase of fieldwork will focus on refining site selection, increasing sampling density, and conducting more detailed analyses to confirm commercial viability.
This update marks a significant step forward in Oscillate PLC’s mission to unlock hydrogen resources in northern Minnesota. With further results expected in the near future, the company remains committed to its exploration objectives, positioning itself as a key player in the emerging hydrogen sector.
