ORLEN and Naftogaz of Ukraine have finalized a significant contract for natural gas deliveries, ensuring Ukrainian consumers receive stable supplies starting in April. This marks the second contract established under the cooperation agreement signed by both companies earlier this year. The gas to be delivered under this contract will be sourced from the United States, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen energy ties between the involved nations.

For this particular transaction, which involves approximately 100 million cubic meters of natural gas, ORLEN has procured an LNG shipment from the U.S. The shipment will be delivered to the Swinoujscie LNG terminal located in Poland. Once the LNG cargo undergoes regasification at the terminal, the resulting gas will be transported to the Polish-Ukrainian border, where it will be supplied to Ukraine.

“This latest gas supply contract with Naftogaz demonstrates the competitiveness of ORLEN’s offer. Our strategy of expanding trading expertise and utilizing our extensive experience in the U.S. market has allowed us to provide attractive commercial terms to our partners. Simultaneously, we are proud to support Ukraine's efforts in energy diversification, reinforcing our neighbor’s energy security,” said Ireneusz Fafara, CEO and President of the ORLEN Management Board.

Fafara further highlighted that ORLEN remains committed to leveraging its strong global partnerships and supply chain efficiencies to meet Ukraine's growing energy needs. By maintaining a flexible and diversified gas sourcing strategy, ORLEN continues to provide stable supplies to its European partners, particularly during these challenging times.

Roman Chumak, Naftogaz Ukraine’s Acting Chairman of the Board, emphasized the vital importance of ensuring reliable gas deliveries for Ukraine. “Stable gas supplies are essential for our country's energy security. Our cooperation with ORLEN significantly increases Ukraine’s LNG import capacity, which is crucial as we strive to safeguard our infrastructure. Diversifying our supply sources is a top priority to maintain uninterrupted and accessible gas supplies, especially in light of ongoing Russian attacks on key infrastructure,” Chumak stated.

This agreement is the second major supply contract concluded between ORLEN and Naftogaz in March 2025. Under the previously signed contract, Ukraine will also receive an additional 100 million cubic meters of LNG-delivered gas. That shipment will be delivered through Lithuania's Klaipeda terminal, where ORLEN has secured a long-term regasification capacity, ensuring consistent access to LNG supplies from various global markets.

Both transactions are rooted in a memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year between ORLEN and Naftogaz, outlining their commitment to ensuring secure and stable natural gas supplies for Ukraine. This ongoing partnership highlights the strategic role ORLEN plays in supporting Ukraine's energy needs while reinforcing regional energy stability.
