NorthWest Copper (“NorthWest” or “the Company”) (TSX-V: NWST) announces that crews have mobilized to the field, with drilling anticipated to commence in mid-July at the Lorraine-Top Cat project in north-central British Columbia. This marks NorthWest's initial drill program for 2024, crucial to advancing our objective of enhancing shareholder value through mineral resource expansion via exploration.

The upcoming drilling at Lorraine-Top Cat is scheduled to cover approximately 1,000 meters (“m”), focusing on the regional Nova and Road IP Targets. These areas offer potential to discover mineralization beyond the existing Lorraine mineral resource estimate (MRE), which currently includes indicated resources of 12.952 million tonnes (Mt) with grades of 0.55% copper (Cu) and 0.16 g/t gold (Au), as well as inferred resources of 45.252 Mt with grades of 0.43% Cu and 0.10 g/t Au at a 0.20% copper cut-off grade.

The Road IP Target, situated 13 kilometers (“km”) north of the Lorraine MRE within the same valley as the Nova Target, is characterized by geophysical and geochemical features. These features include a coincident magnetic low with an internal magnetic high, high induced polarization (IP) chargeability, and anomalies in Cu-Mo Ah soil and silt. The geological model for the Road IP Target suggests it represents a calc-alkaline porphyry system hosted by intrusions of the Hogem batholith. This deposit type may exhibit different geophysical and geochemical characteristics compared to targets in the Ducking Creek Syenite Complex, such as those found in the Lorraine MRE. The Road IP Target area is flat and low-lying, covered by approximately 15 meters of till as estimated by the BCGS (British Columbia Geological Survey). Access to the target is facilitated by the Upper Osilinka Forest Service Road, which bisects the area.

The Nova Target is characterized by coincident magnetic and IP chargeability highs, with the most pronounced magnetic response measuring approximately 400 x 200 meters. Located approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the Road IP Target, Nova exhibits significant mineral potential. A boulder made of pyroxenite altered to skarn, gathered from a borrow-pit along the road passing through the Target, exhibited high concentrations of Cu-Au-Ag-Pt-Pd, with values of 1.39% Cu, 0.69 g/t Au, 6.45 g/t Ag, 0.21 g/t Pt, and 1.398 g/t Pd. It is important to acknowledge that this sample, likely transported, may not fully represent the underlying bedrock.

NorthWest Copper is an explorer focused on copper and gold, boasting a substantial portfolio of projects located in British Columbia. Positioned in a premier jurisdiction, NorthWest Copper is strategically poised to capitalize on the growing global copper market. The company is dedicated to responsible mineral exploration, emphasizing collaborative partnerships with First Nations to integrate stewardship best practices and respect traditional land use in future developments.
