NEXTCHEM to Provide NX CPO™ Technology and Services for Sarlux SAF Pilot Project

MAIRE is pleased to announce that NEXTCHEM, through its subsidiary NextChem Tech, has entered into a binding Term Sheet with Sarlux S.r.l., a member of the Saras Group. This agreement outlines the key terms and conditions for NEXTCHEM to provide engineering services and technology for the development of a pilot plant at Sarlux’s facility in Sarroch, Sardinia, Italy. The pilot plant will focus on producing sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) with the potential for future expansion into a full-scale industrial facility.

As part of this collaboration, NextChem Tech will integrate its advanced NX CPOTM technology into the project. NX CPOTM, or Catalytic Partial Oxidation Technology, is a state-of-the-art solution for generating synthesis gas. This process involves the controlled partial oxidation of hydrocarbon or biobased feedstocks in the presence of a catalyst, facilitating the conversion into syngas through a rapid, heterogeneous reaction. The technology enhances the efficiency of synthetic fuel production by recovering and reusing hydrogen and carbon from off-gases, thereby significantly reducing CO2 emissions. NextChem Tech will provide the license and proprietary equipment for this technology, including its specialized catalyst.

Under the agreement, NextChem Tech will provide the license and proprietary equipment for NX CPOTM technology, including the necessary catalysts. Additionally, NextChem Tech will deliver high-value engineering services throughout the project, covering the design, commissioning, and start-up phases of the pilot plant.
