Neste applauds the French government's approval to sell transport fuels made from 100% renewable raw materials, such as renewable diesel (known as "HVO100"), at fuel stations. Previously restricted to logistics firms with dedicated fuel networks, HVO100, including Neste's renewable diesel, can now be sold and used without blending across all user segments in France.

Claudia Stuckmann-Invernizzi, Vice President of Public Affairs, expressed, "We are delighted by the French government's decision to authorize the sale of transport fuels made entirely from renewable raw materials, including renewable diesel, at all fuel stations. This represents a major advancement in combating climate change and signifies that soon, privately operated vehicle fleets and consumers will have access to this product, enabling immediate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions."

In November 2023, Neste demonstrated its commitment to reducing emissions in the transport sector by signing agreements with two fuel distributors to distribute Neste MY Renewable Diesel in the French market. Fuels like Neste MY Renewable Diesel™, derived entirely from renewable raw materials, offer an immediate solution for emission reductions. Readily available, these fuels help reduce emissions from both light-duty and heavy-duty vehicle fleets across Europe and globally, significantly contributing to the promotion of sustainable mobility.

Neste MY Renewable Diesel can achieve greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) reductions of up to 75% or up to 95%* throughout its fuel lifecycle compared to fossil diesel. It works seamlessly with all diesel engines and the current fuel distribution infrastructure.

Neste MY Renewable Diesel shares a chemical composition similar to fossil diesel, allowing it to seamlessly replace traditional fossil fuels. It can be used at 100% concentration without requiring modifications to diesel-powered vehicles or engines. Vehicle and engine manufacturers widely support the use of 100% renewable diesel.

Neste utilizes scientific advancements and innovative technology to transform waste and other resources into renewable fuels and circular raw materials. The company develops solutions to combat climate change and promote a circular economy. As the world's leading producer of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel, and a pioneer in creating renewable and circular feedstock solutions for polymers and chemicals, Neste's goal is to assist its customers in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by a minimum of 20 million tons annually by 2030.

Neste aims to make its Porvoo oil refinery in Finland the most sustainable refinery in Europe. The company is dedicated to achieving carbon-neutral production by 2035 and aims to reduce the carbon emission intensity of its sold products by 50% by 2040. Neste upholds high standards for biodiversity, human rights, and supply chain management. It has consistently been featured in the CDP and the Global 100 lists of the world's most sustainable companies. In 2023, Neste recorded a revenue of EUR 22.9 billion.
