Neste Provides SAF to Hotelplan Group through Neste Impact Emission Reduction Solution

Neste will provide sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Hotelplan Group, a Swiss travel group active globally in leisure and business travel, to facilitate the group-wide adoption of SAF. Hotelplan is purchasing unblended sustainable aviation fuel, known as "neat" SAF, totaling 300,000 Swiss Francs (CHF) through Neste Impact. This solution enables companies to effectively reduce the carbon footprint associated with air travel activities.

Purchasing Neste's SAF marks a significant advancement in Hotelplan Group's broader sustainability strategy, which includes promoting SAF use and employing innovative technologies like direct air capture to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Flights booked by Hotelplan Group's customers constitute the primary source of its greenhouse gas (CO2e) emissions, amounting to 87% of total emissions. Procuring SAF from Neste allows Hotelplan Group to enhance SAF availability for customers booking flights, thereby offering sustainable travel options. Additionally, Hotelplan Group utilizes SAF for its own corporate travel needs.

Neste Impact provides businesses with a solution to reduce their aviation emissions by procuring Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™. Operating on a book and claim basis, Neste Impact guarantees that the SAF purchased is utilized in aviation to replace fossil jet fuel. Neste MY SAF, derived entirely from sustainably sourced used cooking oil and animal fat waste, achieves up to an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) over its lifecycle compared to fossil jet fuel. The emission reductions from using SAF are independently verified and further validated through the ISCC SAF credit registry, enabling businesses to transparently report these achievements towards their science-based or similar sustainability goals.
