The prices of Monoisopropylamine (MIPA) showed bullish trend in the month of September. According to the analysts at ChemAnalyst, the prices of MIPA showed bullish trend and increased by 1% in the month of September as compared to the previous month. The prices stabilized at USD 1673/MT. The increase in the prices was influenced by various factors including raw material costs, economic factors as well as supply chain concerns.

The primary reason for increased prices of MIPA in the USA market was the increased production cost in the market. The FOB prices of feedstock Ammonia surged by 7.3% which pushed the production cost in the upward direction and affected the production of MIPA. The increase in production cost of MIPA combined with steady demand from downstream agriculture sector as the market approached plantation season led to the overall increase in the prices of MIPA in the market.

On the supply side, Ammonia prices fluctuated in the market. Despite the concurrent increase in the feedstock natural gas, the pressure on Ammonia prices remained limited during this period. Demand of Ammonia and consequently for MIPA remained steady from the fertilizers and pesticides market. The fertilizer market adopted a cautious approach in the month of September due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions including hurricanes and thunderstorms in the USA. The adverse weather conditions affected the supply and caused disruptions led by logistical challenges and other factors. The adverse weather conditions pushed the prices in the market in the upward direction.  While Hurricane Francine impacted southern Louisiana, market insights indicate that most of the fertilizer sector in the state managed to withstand the storm's effects effectively.  However, the industry remained vigilant as another tropical storm, Tropical Storm Helene, approached the U.S. with winds reaching 50 miles per hour and moving west-northwest, forecasters anticipated its intensification as it neared landfall. Although the storm is expected to weaken over land, it could still bring significant rain and strong winds to surrounding states, raising concerns among agricultural and fertilizer stakeholders in regions such as South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

On the demand side, the demand for MIPA has risen significantly driven by its applications in various industries including agrochemical and pharmaceutical and coatings industry. The uptick in demand and prices was notable as manufacturers ramp up production reflecting the changing market dynamics due to seasonality changes and changing agricultural needs according to them.

Looking further, the prices of MIPA are expected to decrease in the coming months as supply chain issues began to get resolved the prices may stabilize as availability of MIPA may improve in the market and as demand stabilized. Improvement in the production capacities and logistical improvements are anticipated to contribute to this trend.
