On October 14, 2024, KBR announced it had secured a contract to deliver engineering and procurement services for the Beachfield Manatee upgrade, the onshore portion of the Manatee gas field project. This project, located in the East Coast Marine Area of Trinidad and Tobago, is operated by Shell and plays a significant role in bolstering global energy security and natural gas production. The gas from the Manatee field will supply Trinidad and Tobago’s Atlantic LNG facility, contributing to the country’s energy infrastructure.

KBR’s new contract builds upon previous successful collaborations with Shell. The company recently completed front-end engineering design (FEED) services as part of Shell’s integrated development team for the Manatee project. This latest award allows KBR to continue its involvement in the project, reinforcing its position as a key partner in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market.

Jay Ibrahim, President of Sustainable Technology Solutions at KBR, expressed enthusiasm about the contract, stating, “We are thrilled to be a key contributor to Shell’s Manatee project and continue our substantial presence in the LNG market.” He also emphasized that this win underscores KBR’s strong capabilities in supporting energy security and providing reliable access to natural resources. According to Ibrahim, KBR is dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals of delivering energy solutions that address long-term global needs while supporting the energy transition.
