Karpowership & Petrobras Collaborates for Integrated Natural Gas Ventures in the Americas

Karpowership and Petrobras have entered into a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) to merge their expertise in the natural gas and power domains. This encompasses liquefaction for both floating and onshore natural gas, storage of natural gas and LNG, and regasification programs, aimed at ensuring supply and meeting the energy industry's demand across the Americas.
Investments made in the country are integral to Karpowership's global strategy, aiming not just to bolster energy security but also to foster the socioeconomic growth of its strategic allies. Since 2022, the company has spearheaded Brazil's swiftest LNG-to-power project, currently managing four floating plants, referred to as Powerships, with a contracted capacity of 560 MW. Additionally, Karpowership has undertaken two solar energy generation projects in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

Additionally, the company anticipates making fresh investments in renewable projects and green technology initiatives in the upcoming years. Moreover, Özdemir highlights the company's dedication to generating new employment prospects in the Brazilian maritime, gas, and power sectors, in alignment with global ESG standards.

In Brazil, Karpowership's pair of solar energy initiatives, coupled with its 560MW LNG-to-Power Project employing Powerships and FSRUs situated in Rio de Janeiro, have contributed to the creation of over 1,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities. Karpowership Brasil additionally adheres to top-tier global ESG standards within the country by providing technical training and skill enhancement programs in collaboration with the Navy, participating in reforestation and volunteer endeavors, and contributing educational and technological resources to local communities.
