Centrica and Mitsubishi Power have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to investigate the potential development, construction, and operation of Europe's pioneering ammonia-fired power generation facility. This groundbreaking project is slated for realization at Bord Gáis Energy's Whitegate Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power station in Cork, Ireland.

The primary objective of this initiative is to establish Europe's first-ever ammonia-fired power generation facility, positioning itself as one of only two such facilities worldwide.
