H2V and Hy2Gen, prominent players in sustainable energy solutions, have united their expertise to establish a pioneering production unit for e-SAF (synthetic aviation fuels). This collaborative venture marks a significant stride towards enhancing eco-friendly aviation practices. Situated strategically in the industrial-port zone of Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône), the project is poised to revolutionize the aviation industry's approach to fuel production. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices, the partnership aims to address pressing environmental concerns while meeting the aviation sector's growing demand for cleaner energy alternatives. This initiative embodies a commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, shaping the future of aviation fuel production.
Alexis Martinez, director of H2V, characterizes the project unveiled on June 12 in collaboration with Hy2Gen as an additional component of the second phase of their initiative. H2V, specializing in green hydrogen production, has partnered with the sustainable fuels producer to incorporate a production facility for e-SAF (synthetic aviation fuel) into their planned installation in Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône). This partnership, operating as a temporary consortium, aims to establish a production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of e-SAF by 2030 on the approximately forty hectares of land allocated within the industrial-port zone.
H2V is a company specializing in the production of green hydrogen. It is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions and plays a significant role in promoting environmentally friendly practices within the energy sector. Green hydrogen, produced using renewable energy sources, is seen as a crucial component in reducing carbon emissions and transitioning to a more sustainable energy future. H2V focuses on developing innovative technologies and infrastructure to support the production and integration of green hydrogen into various industrial applications, contributing to the global efforts towards decarbonization and sustainability.
Hy2gen operates across the entire hydrogen value chain, designing, building, owning and operating production facilities. This joined-up approach ensures continuous knowledge transfer between plant design and operations. Their focus is on renewable hydrogen and its derivatives like renewable methanol, ammonia and e-kerosene. They use proven, commercially available technologies (TRL 8-9) from reputable global suppliers, customizing them to fit the specific needs of each production site. These sites are strategically located within industrial zones to benefit from and contribute to local and national circular economies, as well as economies of scale. Hy2gen is a company focused on developing and supplying renewable hydrogen (green hydrogen) and its derivatives like e-fuels (E-Methanol, E-Kerosene etc.). They build and operate production plants around the world to deliver these clean fuels without relying on fossil fuels. Their team of experts considers various factors like cost, demand, and environmental impact to ensure sustainable growth in this sector.
