H2 Global Energy, in partnership with a consortium of industry leaders, has submitted the technical report for a groundbreaking green ammonia production facility in Aqaba, Jordan. This one-million metric ton plant will be a major step forward in advancing the global green hydrogen and ammonia sectors.

The push toward green hydrogen and green ammonia has gained significant momentum in recent years due to their critical role in achieving global decarbonization targets and combating climate change. Green ammonia, produced by utilizing green hydrogen from renewable energy sources, serves as a clean alternative for various applications, including agriculture, shipping, and power generation. As global demand for sustainable energy alternatives continues to rise, this facility will position Jordan as a key player in the renewable energy sector and a hub for green fuel production in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The technical report outlines the comprehensive framework for the development, construction, and operation of the facility, emphasizing sustainability and innovation. Upon completion, the plant is expected to play a major role in reducing carbon emissions across various industries, while supporting Jordan’s renewable energy objectives. The facility is also anticipated to attract significant foreign investment, generate new job opportunities, and further strengthen Jordan’s position in the global green hydrogen economy.

The project aligns with Jordan's national energy goals, which focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and decreasing dependence on fossil fuel imports. By producing green ammonia locally, Jordan stands to enhance its energy security, stimulate economic growth, and establish itself as a regional leader in the green economy.

Waleed AlHallaj, Chief Commercial Officer of H2 Global Energy, spoke to the significance of this development. "The Aqaba green ammonia facility is not only a testament to Jordan's commitment to sustainability, but also a landmark project in the global green energy landscape. By harnessing Jordan’s renewable resources, we are creating a scalable, green energy solution that will deliver long-term environmental and economic benefits. This project is a prime example of our dedication to spearheading impactful, sustainable energy initiatives that cater to both regional and global needs," he said.

H2 Global Energy and its consortium partners are committed to accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy, with the Aqaba facility serving as a key driver of this shift. With the continued support of the Jordanian government and collaboration with international stakeholders, the consortium aims to make the facility a model for green ammonia production worldwide.
