Guangxi Huayi Energy Reinitiates Production at Methanol-to-Olefins Plant in China

The temporary interruption of activities at this facility, known for its substantial annual propylene production capacity of 750 thousand tons, took place from October 28 to November 20. In a previous announcement that showcased the company's forward-looking strategy, Guangxi Huayi Energy Chemical revealed ambitious plans for an innovative facility dedicated to processing methanol into olefins (MTO) in Qinzhou, situated within the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. This visionary project includes a high-capacity methanol-to-olefins unit designed to produce an impressive 1 million tonnes per year. Additionally, the project features a Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) plant with an annual capacity of 300,200 tonnes and two Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) plants, each boasting capacities of 2023,2025 tonnes per year. The construction phase for this extensive project is slated to unfold between 2023 and 2025.
