GAS Entec, a leading LNG infrastructure firm, along with its group company AG&P and local partner Issa Haddadin—collectively known as the Consortium—has secured a contract to construct the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah onshore regasification LNG terminal at the Port of Aqaba in Jordan. This contract was awarded by the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), the state-owned infrastructure entity and client for the project.

The project encompasses the full scope of engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) for a 720 mmscfd onshore LNG regasification facility. This includes marine infrastructure, jetty topside construction, and associated components, with completion, commissioning, and delivery targeted within a 22-month timeline.

Recognized as Jordan's most important energy project, the terminal is set to significantly boost the national economy, improve trade and services, and strengthen the country's energy security.

Jordan depends significantly on natural gas for its power and industrial requirements but struggles with supply reliability. The new LNG terminal will offer Jordan the flexibility to source LNG from diverse global suppliers, ensuring a stable and secure energy supply.

GAS Entec and AG&P were chosen from a competitive field of companies due to their strong credentials and cost-effective approach. Their solution utilizes GAS Entec's advanced technology for modularizing and fabricating essential regasification components in Korea, which are then transported to project sites globally.

This prestigious award represents a major achievement for GAS Entec and AG&P, highlighting their prominent position in the global LNG industry.

Chong Ho Kwak, CEO of GAS Entec, remarked, "This project reflects our dedication to providing innovative and efficient solutions in the LNG sector and further enhances our distinguished portfolio of achievements."

Nishant Sharma, Commercial Head of GAS Entec and Senior Vice President at AG&P, stated, "We are privileged to be selected for this crucial project, which will greatly enhance Jordan's energy security and economic growth. The confidence that ADC has shown in GAS Entec and AG&P highlights our commitment to delivering customer-focused solutions and our capability to provide cost-effective, top-tier LNG infrastructure."

Omar Albadour, Head of the Energy Unit at ADC, commented, "We are honored to collaborate with esteemed LNG infrastructure partners like GAS Entec and AG&P on this pivotal project, which will mark a significant step in our nation's ongoing shift toward dependable energy. We anticipate the project's completion and commissioning by the second quarter of 2026."

The Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah onshore regasification LNG Terminal Project will further enhance GAS Entec and AG&P's esteemed standing as leading developers of LNG terminals. This new contract adds to their impressive portfolio, which includes LNG terminals in Indonesia and the Philippines, four global FSRU conversions, two LNG FSU carrier conversions, and three LNG bunkering vessels in North America, Japan, and Singapore.
