Germany: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) shared its plan to collaborate with German firms in producing clean Ammonia with a minimal Carbon footprint. This endeavor intends to achieve the goal of producing Ammonia with an absolute zero-Carbon footprint to minimize industrial Carbon dioxide discharges in Germany and enhance air quality. As a result, ADNOC entered an alliance with the North Rhine-Westphalia's state government of Germany and the industry to establish an eco-friendly value chain for the Ammonia industry. Such a partnership is set to make a significant stride in global Ammonia production sustainability by diminishing the environmental impact.

North Rhine-Westphalia's government, ADNOC, and GMBH & Co Corenta have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a strategic partnership at the Chempark chemical complex. As per the memorandum, ADNOC will make investments in the chemical complex and gain access to Corenta's facilities to expand its business in the chemical sector. Furthermore, the partnership will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience, and technologies between Corenta and ADNOC, resulting in improved competitiveness for both companies. ADNOC will bolster its presence in the European chemicals market and contribute to the establishment of a sustainable chemical economy in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Ammonia, which is a low-Carbon fuel used for several industrial purposes, including power generation, transportation, and cement, steel, and fertilizer production, has garnered significant attention. To promote renewable energy generation, Mona Neubauer, the Deputy Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, has emphasised the importance of developing materials that facilitate the conveyance of climate-neutral energy, such as green Hydrogen. Neubauer argued that to meet current requirements and achieve climate change goals, significant volumes of green energy imports are necessary. To provide energy to the industrial sector, partnerships and import infrastructures are being created.

ADNOC is ramping up its Ammonia operations to cater to the surging worldwide requirement for its eco-friendly energy sources. The UAE-headquartered corporation has joined forces with the North Rhine-Westphalia government and Corinta to aid in cutting emissions in the principal hub of Germany's industrial sector. It intends to leverage its plentiful and cost-effective energy resources alongside the utilization of low-emission solutions to accomplish this goal.

In May 2021, a leading company disclosed their upcoming global project on the production of low-emission Ammonia in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. Set up at the Industrial Chemicals Zone within the integrated industrial system "Taziz," the project aims at a record production capacity of one million metric tonnes per year. This project opens the opportunity for the company to broaden its strategic energy partnerships by exploring the Hydrogen fuel value chain. As a part of its sustainability initiative, the company has already dispatched test shipments of low-Carbon Ammonia to its customers in Germany and Asia for careful testing in diverse sectors of use.
