EE North America and the Office of the Secretary of Energy of Oklahoma have signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop advanced green energy projects in Oklahoma. This partnership aims to propel renewable energy innovations, particularly Power-to-X technologies, which convert green hydrogen into e-methanol and sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF).
Governor Kevin Stitt emphasized the significance of this collaboration for Oklahoma's future. “This historic partnership represents a major step forward for our state. By combining our business-friendly environment and comprehensive energy strategy with European Energy’s cutting-edge technology, we are investing in a reliable, affordable energy grid that fosters economic growth and job creation. This initiative will ensure Oklahoma remains a leader in energy innovation for generations to come.” Stitt’s commitment to making Oklahoma the most business-friendly state in the nation aligns seamlessly with this initiative. His focus on technological advancements and workforce development continues to drive the state’s economic growth and sustainability objectives.
Lorena Ciciriello, Chief Executive Officer of EE North America, detailed the company's vision for Oklahoma. “Our comprehensive approach includes deploying a range of renewable energy solutions, such as solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Power-to-X technologies like green hydrogen, green e-methanol, and e-SAF. By 2027, we aim to establish 1GW of energy generation capacity across these platforms. Our commitment spans the entire value chain, ensuring every aspect of our operations contributes to Oklahoma’s economic and environmental goals.”
Thorvald Spanggaard, Executive Vice President and Head of Project Development at European Energy, reinforced the company’s dedication to sustainable energy development in the region. “Leveraging our global expertise in renewable energy, we plan to integrate state-of-the-art hydrogen and Power-to-X technologies to build resilient and forward-thinking energy solutions. This effort is not only about advancing Oklahoma’s energy transformation but also fostering economic growth and environmental sustainability. We are eager to collaborate with local stakeholders to achieve a greener future.”
