Acetone and Phenol prices settled at relatively lower rates in the beginning of January despite spike in feedstock prices. The prices showed a downward trajectory after China imposed Anti-Dumping Duty on Acetone and Phenol imports from US, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Europe causing them to dump their stocks to India. Accumulation of cheaper imports have forced domestic players to sell the products at deteriorated margins and the current Acetone prices were assessed in the range of INR 52 to 54 per Kg.
