Indian Plastics Federation, along with the support of Indian Government’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, organized IndPlas ’25, an international plastics exhibition aimed to connect business stalwarts with potential customers. The conclave was organised from February 28 to March 3, 2025 at Biswa Mela Prangan, Kolkata to showcase Bengal as an investment destination for the plastic sector. ChemAnalyst visited the exhibition and made its presence felt by interacting with the who’s who of the plastic industry.

The exhibitors included manufacturers of polymer raw materials, distributors/traders, and machinery manufacturers, many of whom ChemAnalyst’s representative interacted with. Industry titans like Global Chemicals Limited, Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, Kintegra PlastiPack Limited, Rama Plastics, HMEL and Sunrise Plastic Enterprise interacted with our product and were impressed by the multifunctionality of it.

A few prominent announcements were also made during the exhibition. Europe’s one of the leading supplier of injection moulding technology ENGEL Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Electronica Plastic Machines, a renowned Indian manufacturer of hydraulic injection moulding machines. This partnership is crucial for both companies.

ENGEL, a leader in injection moulding technology, will benefit from enhanced access to the Indian market and the broader South Asian region. Electronica's established presence and local knowledge can help ENGEL grow its footprint and better cater to the growing demand for injection moulding machines in India and nearby markets.

As a result of the partnership, Electronica will have the opportunity to introduce more advanced, cutting-edge technology from ENGEL, elevating their product offerings.

Other notable attendees include HPCL, who has expanded their petrochemical footprint through its Bamar, Rajasthan refinery. The construction of the new petrochemical complex is underway, with plans of its completion in September 2025 and commissioning in December 2025. The new complex boasts of a nine mmtpa crude oil processing capacity and 2.4 MMTPA petrochemicals processing capacity.

In the petrochemical processing facility, HPCL majorly plans to process polyethylene and polypropylene which are an essential in the plastic industry.

The exhibition boasted quite a few technical seminars which were based on growth opportunities in plastic industry, innovations in packaging technologies and designs, recycling – sustainability and environment, new age plastics, bioplastics, bio-degradable and compostable plastics.

The overall event provided an excellent learning experience for our team about ChemAnalyst’s pricing platform and knowing their feedback. The exhibition was a huge success in bringing industry giants under one roof and provide an excellent platform for networking.
