Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the largest single-site smelter globally, has reached a notable achievement in sustainable Aluminium production by securing Capral Aluminium as the inaugural customer for its groundbreaking EternAl Low-Carbon Aluminium primary billet. Capral Aluminium, recognized as Australasia's sole ASI Certified extruder, underscores the milestone by being the first to adopt this innovative low-carbon product.
Launched in May 2024, EternAl™ is available in two variants: EternAl-30 and EternAl-15, featuring 30% and 15% recycled content respectively, which significantly lowers their carbon footprint. The product's sustainability credentials have been independently verified by DNV, a globally recognized leader in verification assurance. Capral Aluminium has successfully concluded trials of its EternAl-15 and EternAl-30 products, solidifying its position as a provider of sustainable aluminium solutions for diverse Australian manufacturing industries. These sectors include marine, defense, transport, construction, signage, and general fabrication, highlighting EternAl™’s versatility and commitment to sustainability.
Li Al Baqali, Alba's Chief Executive Officer, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Capral, highlighting it as a major step in their mission to drive sustainable aluminium production. He emphasized that the successful trials of EternAl-15 and EternAl-30 mark a significant advance in their efforts to revolutionize the aluminium industry. By collaborating with Capral, Alba aims to deliver high-quality, recycled content products to the Australian market, empowering local manufacturers to lead in environmental responsibility and embrace a circular economy. Al Baqali expresses optimism regarding EternAlTM's capacity to drive innovation in sustainable construction, marine, and transportation sectors within the Australian market.
