The European Calcium Nitrate price assessment in early April showed upward price movement, the latest assessment undertaken by ChemAnalyst revealed. In the beginning of April 2025, calcium nitrate prices in Europe and North America saw an upward movement due to changes in demand and supply factors. In planting season, demand for fertilizer increases and the price took northwards incline in North America by 1.02%. Comparably, result of low supply due to the limited domestic output and supports on imports, Belgium prices of calcium nitrate inclined by 1.11% in Europe. Shortage of Calcium Nitrate supply and seasonal agricultural factor push the price high in Spain by 1.06%.

Calcium nitrate and other ethylene and ammonia-based compounds that are essential for the creation of fertilizer are being tracked by the European Commission.  This action attempts to stop market disruption from driving increased imports, particularly from China, where trade defenses and overproduction have resulted in a fertilizer glut.  Although it does not place import restrictions, the initiative increases openness and enables the EU to respond to developments in the market.  With a three-year lifespan, this monitoring system will give European stakeholders access to real-time data to assist them manage market risks.

The demand for fertilizer including Calcium Nitrate in the United States is still high, according to Nutrien, who also estimates that 91–93 million acres of maize will be planted in the future.  However, a 25% duty on fertilizers from Canada is driving up costs in the U.S., increasing farmers' expenses. However, the anticipation on nitrogen market speaks to level out the U.S. fertilizer market in 2025 could be at jeopardy due to ongoing geopolitical tensions and worries about rising natural gas costs.

The Calcium Nitrate market in Europe is currently experiencing high production costs as a result of the elevated natural gas prices.  In 2024, fertilizer imports from Russia increased by 33%, which worsened political conditions around the world.   The European Union has responded by promoting fertilizers made from dung as a substitute and is considering imposing duties on Russian imports. There has been debate over the European Commission's plan to increase tariffs from €40–45 per tonne to €315–430 per tonne during the following three years. Given that 25% of EU imports are Russian fertilizers, such tariff rises could lead to a significant increase in the cost of fertilizers like calcium nitrate.

The EU has increased its regulation of imports, particularly in Russia in order to maintain the local production and maintain the prices low of fertilizers for farmers.  An additional tariff hike can have a significant impact on the market and increase prices for European farmers.  Due to this trend, calcium nitrate prices have been increasing throughout Europe as market participants anticipate shifts in production costs and trade policies.

North America Calcium Nitrate market dynamics are shaped by the domestic supply chain support and changes in trade. While Mexico has looked to non-traditional sources to reduce the effect of the tariffs by U.S. and by the Canadian output have helped to balance out the limits in imports.

Stepping into April 2025, the gradual demand of calcium nitrate shows the relations between changing policies, supply limits, and urge in growing demand. Over time, internal supply chain dynamics and trade rules provide challenges for North America.  However, Europe influences the market through import dependence, production pricing, and geopolitical threats.  Though some market concerns remain such as geopolitical threats and increasing input costs with the general trend suggests increased pricing and a tightening supply which kept the bullish market for calcium nitrate.
