Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited will invest approximately INR 1500 crore to set up a plant for ethanol production of 100 KL per day from paddy straws in Makhardokda, between Bhandara and Lakhani. This will be a second-generation ethanol manufacturing plant that will use paddy straws, sugarcane, forest and other crops. This production facility will benefit the farmers by providing them with INR 2000 per ton of raw material and BPCL can use its own manufactured ethanol rather than buying it from other industries.
