Azane Fuel Solutions and Amogy have officially entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) to evaluate the technical and commercial feasibility of incorporating Amogy's innovative ammonia-to-power system on board a bunker vessel concept developed by Azane. This collaborative effort signifies a significant step toward revolutionizing the maritime industry by exploring sustainable propulsion solutions for vessels through the integration of cutting-edge technologies.

The scope of collaboration encompasses a comprehensive examination of the technical and commercial viability of integrating Amogy's ammonia-to-power system into Azane's ammonia fuel bunker vessel concept. Additionally, the partnership will delve into the potential integration of Azane's ammonia fuel feeder solution into the Amogy power system, further expanding the possibilities for seamless and sustainable ammonia bunkering operations.

Azane's bunker vessel concept is designed with a dedicated ammonia cargo handling system, reflecting a holistic approach to ammonia fuel transportation. The company is actively seeking innovative solutions to facilitate carbon-free propulsion for these vessels, aligning with a broader commitment to environmental sustainability. Once the development phase is complete, Azane envisions offering these state-of-the-art ammonia bunker vessels to key ports worldwide, including Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Singapore, and other strategic locations.

Amogy brings to the table an advanced ammonia-to-power solution aimed at addressing challenges in hard-to-abate sectors such as shipping, power generation, and heavy-duty transportation. By leveraging Amogy's cutting-edge technology, the collaborative bunker vessel equipped with the ammonia-to-power solution is poised to achieve zero-emissions without compromising operational and safety requirements. Christian W. Berg, Managing Director of Amogy Norway, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting its groundbreaking nature within the maritime sector. The integration of Amogy's technology into Azane's bunker vessel project signifies a pioneering initiative that stands out in the shipping industry.

Håkon Skjerstad, CEO of Azane Fuel Solutions, underscored the core objective behind introducing an ammonia bunker vessel — to contribute to the decarbonization of the shipping industry. In pursuit of this goal, a zero-emission solution is imperative for providing propulsion to these vessels. Recognizing the promising technology offered by Amogy, Skjerstad emphasized its potential to help Azane Fuel Solutions realize its strategic ambition of providing zero-emission bunker solutions for deep-sea shipping. This collaboration signifies a crucial step forward in reshaping the maritime industry, aligning it with sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

Moving forward, Amogy and Azane will embark on an exploration of the compatibility between their respective technologies and assess the commercial potential of integrating their solutions. This collaborative effort sets the stage for a subsequent pilot project aimed at advancing the ammonia bunker vessel equipped with the ammonia-to-power solution for widespread commercial applications. The commitment to joint exploration and development underscores the shared vision of both companies in driving innovative and sustainable solutions for the maritime sector.
