A landmark partnership has been forged between Hedge5 Manufacturing Solutions Pvt Ltd and the Government of Assam, paving the way for substantial investments in renewable energy and compressed biogas (CBG) projects across the state. This agreement, backed by a proposed investment estimated in the hundreds of crore Indian rupees, is set to significantly boost Assam's clean energy infrastructure while creating new economic opportunities.
The MoU, inked in late February, outlines plan for two key projects designed to enhance Assam's energy sustainability. The first involves the development of a multi-faceted renewable power plant, integrating solar, wind, and advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS). This hybrid facility, with a capacity of several megawatts, is scheduled to become operational within the next year, providing a reliable and continuous source of green energy to the region.
Simultaneously, Hedge5 will construct multiple CBG plants, each capable of processing several tons of organic waste daily. These facilities, expected to begin production within the following year, will convert agricultural and municipal waste into clean, renewable biogas, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional fossil fuels and mitigating environmental pollution.
The Assam government has pledged to provide comprehensive support for these projects, streamlining the approval process and facilitating necessary clearances from relevant departments. This collaborative approach aims to ensure the timely and efficient implementation of both initiatives, aligning with the state's ambitious renewable energy targets.
The proposed projects are anticipated to generate a significant number of direct employment opportunities, stimulating the local economy and fostering the growth of a skilled workforce in the renewable energy sector. Hedge5 will also leverage the state's Ease of Doing Business portal to expedite the necessary regulatory approvals, ensuring a smooth and efficient project execution.
Chaitanyaram Joshi, COO of Hedge5, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the projects' potential to drive Assam's clean energy transition and create lasting economic benefits. Senior state officials echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of these initiatives in bolstering Assam's renewable energy capacity and reducing its carbon footprint.
With both projects poised to launch within the next two years, this partnership signifies a major step forward in Assam's journey towards a sustainable and prosperous future. The collaboration between Hedge5 and the Assam government underscores the growing commitment to renewable energy and the creation of a greener, more resilient economy.
