Argent LNG LLC has selected Baker Hughe as the technology provider for its proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Baker Hughes will supply state-of-the-art liquefaction solutions, power generation equipment, and gas compression systems for the facility, which is expected to produce approximately 24 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG. The announcement was made at Baker Hughes’ Annual Meeting in Florence.

The project will integrate Baker Hughes’ advanced NMBL modularized LNG solution, powered by its high-efficiency LM9000 gas turbine. These pre-fabricated, tested modules will ensure scalable and reliable LNG production. Additionally, Baker Hughes will incorporate its iCenter digital solutions powered by Cordant to enhance operational efficiency, maximize reliability, and optimize plant availability. The company will also provide power generation units driven by LM9000 turbines and multi-year services to support the terminal’s operations.

By leveraging its decades of experience in LNG technology, Baker Hughes aims to streamline project execution and enhance cost efficiency, allowing Argent LNG to move forward with greater financial certainty. “Today’s announcement reaffirms the technology leadership we’ve built over the past 30 years in LNG,” said Lorenzo Simonelli, chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes. “Our collaboration with Argent LNG highlights our commitment to delivering advanced, best-in-class LNG solutions. As global energy demand grows, we remain dedicated to providing innovative technology that ensures reliable and affordable energy worldwide.”

Jonathan Bass, chairman and CEO of Argent LNG, emphasized the significance of this partnership. “We chose Baker Hughes for its proven technology, established presence in the LNG market, and commitment to innovation—aligning perfectly with Argent LNG’s vision to deliver transformative energy solutions,” Bass said. “This collaboration not only reinforces our commitment to technical excellence and cost-effective execution but also strengthens the project’s financial viability by leveraging Baker Hughes’ industry leadership.”

Phase 1 construction is expected to begin in 2026, with commercial operations targeted for 2030. Meanwhile, Phase 2, which aims to expand capacity, is progressing through key milestones, including resource reporting, securing FERC approvals, finalizing gas supply agreements, and reaching financial close.

As the Argent LNG project advances and approaches a Final Investment Decision, Baker Hughes anticipates additional orders related to this agreement. This collaboration further solidifies its role in the long-term success of Argent LNG, reinforcing its position as a leader in LNG technology and infrastructure development.
