The global market has been battling with low demand pressure amidst supply uncertainties for a long time, affecting the global petrochemical industries, and recently started dragging major economies toward recession. Recent analysis on Ammonium Sulphate prices for Germany and the USA shows the prices of this commodity declined during the month of December 2022, which changed its trajectory during the first week of January 2023.

The price of feedstock Ammonia has affected the price of Ammonium Sulphate in the USA and Germany during December 2022, as Ammonia prices in Germany fell by around 2% during the last week of December. The upstream natural gas prices are one of the major factors affecting the Ammonium Sulphate market, especially in Europe and the USA, where production of Ammonium Sulphate fertilizer was reduced because of increased natural gas prices. However, the price of natural gas has declined, while the price was still high for the downstream sector.

In December, the Ammonium Sulphate market contracted due to the festive season in Europe and USA, but from the first day of January, the market started expanding, and the price increased due to improved demand from downstream industries. In the first week of January, the Ammonium Sulphate market witnessed 2% growth in Germany, whereas the prices increased by 3% in the USA.

The increasing demand for Food & Beverages due to the growing world population is one of the key factors driving the Ammonium Sulphate market in the USA and Germany.

The ongoing COVID-19 situation in China played a vital role in increasing the price of Ammonium Sulphate in the market. China is the world's largest exporter of Ammonium Sulphate, and due to the country's covid situation, the supply of the product has declined in the international market, and the prices increased in the international market, including Germany and the USA.

As per the ChemAnalyst analysis, the price of Ammonium Sulphate may increase in the second half of January 2023 because of the low supply in the international market. The market of natural gas and Ammonia is expected to remain unstable in the future, which will impact the Ammonium Sulphate prices in the USA and Germany.
