Air Liquide has effectively launched a fresh 500 million euros green bond, aligning with its vision of merging growth with sustainable advancement. The company plans to allocate the funds raised to support pivotal energy transition initiatives and sustainable projects, notably focusing on low-carbon hydrogen, carbon capture, and low-carbon air gases. This latest issuance underscores Air Liquide's ongoing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, following its initial green bond offering in 2021.
The transaction, which saw a notable oversubscription from investors, was carried out within the framework of the Group's Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme. Through this issuance, Air Liquide is securing 500 million euros with a maturity period of 10 years, yielding at 3.466%.
The funds raised from this issuance will enable Air Liquide to finance or refinance key energy transition and sustainable projects, while also facilitating the Group's long-term growth under highly competitive financial terms.
Jérôme Pelletan, Group Chief Financial Officer, remarked: The achievement of this second green bond issuance underscores investors' trust in Air Liquide's capacity to deploy technologies and lead initiatives aimed at decarbonizing our operations while assisting our customers in reducing their carbon footprint. This aligns with our strategic roadmap, ADVANCE, which intricately connects financial and non-financial achievements. The technologies Air Liquide specializes in, particularly in low-carbon hydrogen, carbon capture, and low-carbon air gases, play an active and tangible role in transitioning toward a low-carbon society.
