Technip Energies, in collaboration with JGC and NPCC, has been granted a Limited Notice To Proceed (LNTP) by ADNOC to initiate early engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities at the Ruwais low-carbon LNG project situated in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi. This groundbreaking project will encompass two natural gas liquefaction trains, boasting a combined LNG production capacity of 9.6 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa). Notably, the facility will utilize electric-driven motors instead of traditional gas turbines, powered by nuclear energy.

Positioned to be the inaugural LNG export facility in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region operating on clean power, the Ruwais project is poised to become one of the most environmentally sustainable LNG plants globally. Furthermore, this endeavor will significantly augment ADNOC's LNG production capacity, aligning with the surging global demand for natural gas and the imperative shift towards decarbonization.

Lauding the pivotal role of LNG as a crucial energy source on the journey towards achieving net-zero emissions, Technip Energies underscores its commitment to fostering the continued advancement of the LNG sector while effectively addressing the mounting pressure for emissions reduction. The Ruwais LNG project epitomizes forward-thinking innovation in the realm of decarbonized LNG production. By employing zero-carbon energy sources to drive electrified LNG trains, Technip Energies is establishing a new benchmark for sustainable LNG production. The project not only strengthens the enduring partnership with ADNOC but also reaffirms Technip Energies' leadership in low-carbon LNG initiatives. The company takes pride in contributing to a project that perfectly aligns with its vision of facilitating net-zero solutions and meeting the imperative for affordable, accessible, and sustainable energy.

JGC expresses profound honor in participating in this groundbreaking low-carbon LNG project. Against the backdrop of the global focus on decarbonization, the JGC Group is steadfastly advancing the energy transition agenda, with the Ruwais project closely aligning with its strategic direction. Leveraging its expertise and experience in the LNG domain, JGC is committed to supporting the Ruwais low-carbon LNG Project, drawing upon its demonstrated track record in LNG ventures. JGC firmly believes that its involvement will bolster the project's success and contribute to economic growth in the UAE.

Similarly, NPCC expresses deep pride in being selected for the Ruwais low-carbon LNG Project alongside esteemed partners, marking a significant milestone in advancing environmental sustainability and global energy transition efforts. Embracing clean energy for LNG production sets a new benchmark for the industry, substantially reducing carbon emissions and paving the way for a cleaner, greener future. NPCC is honored to play a role in a project that not only secures energy supply but also underscores the UAE's leadership in driving the energy transition agenda on a global scale.
