PolyOne Corporation, a leading global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, is buying plastic-pigments business of Clariant AG at the net purchase price is $1.45 billion and has signed a related agreement. The deal includes the sale of Clariant's global masterbatches business, which generated revenue of $1.1 last year, and a separate agreement to sell the masterbatches business which includes color and additive concentrates for plastics in India for $60 million. The company is also looking forward to divesting its non-core pigments business in 2020 as it progresses. The Clariant business includes 46 manufacturing units and R&D centers in 29 countries and around 3,600 employees, who will tie up with PolyOne's color and additives segment.
