Zonte Metals has announced significant progress in its exploration efforts at the Cross Hills Copper project in Newfoundland and Labrador. The company revealed that its K10 target has been advanced to the drill stage, following the identification of two large gravity anomalies that are spatially coincident with magnetic highs, copper mineralization, and interpreted structural zones.
The K10 target, part of Zonte’s larger Cross Hills Copper project, has attracted attention due to its promising geological and geophysical characteristics. The two gravity anomalies, K10S and K10N, are substantial in size, with K10S measuring 1,800 meters in length, 400 meters in width, and up to 500 meters deep. The K10N anomaly is even larger, stretching 1,100 meters in length, 500 meters in width, and 750 meters deep, and remains open along strike, suggesting further exploration potential.
These anomalies were detected through reprocessing and compilation of various datasets, including magnetics, gravity, geological, and geochemical data. The gravity anomalies align with elevated copper-in-soils and rocks, as well as copper mineralization in bedrock, primarily in the form of chalcopyrite, along with subordinate bornite and chalcocite. Pyrite, a common mineral, is also observed in the area and forms a halo around the anomalies. The company notes that these indicators suggest a strong potential for copper mineralization in the target zone.
Terry Christopher, President and CEO of Zonte Metals, commented on the development: "The K10 target hosts two high-priority anomalies. The large gravity anomalies are supported by coincident geophysical, geological, and geochemical data, which significantly de-risk the target. Together with our recently announced K9 target, we now have three large drill-ready targets. We are continuing to process additional data for the K6S-K7 and K8 targets, further strengthening the potential of the Cross Hills Copper project."
The K10 target is located within Zonte's Cross Hills Copper property, which has been the focus of intense exploration due to its potential for significant copper mineralization. The company's exploration work has led to the identification of additional targets in the area, and the K10 and K9 anomalies are seen as key areas of interest for future drilling.
Zonte’s Cross Hills Copper project is situated in Newfoundland and Labrador, an emerging mining region with growing interest due to its favorable geological conditions for copper and other base metals. The company’s exploration efforts, which focus on advanced geophysical and geochemical analysis, aim to unlock the potential of the property and build on previous successes in identifying copper-bearing zones.
Zonte Metals is a junior exploration company focused on gold and copper exploration. The company holds a 100% interest in the MJ gold project in the Yukon Territory, the Wings Point project in Newfoundland, and the Cross Hills Copper project in Newfoundland and Labrador. Zonte also has a 25% carried interest in Project X in Colombia, which is a joint venture with AngloGold Ashanti and B2Gold.
