Oman’s Gulf Petrochemical Services & Trading (GPS) has awarded a five-year framework agreement to Worley Oman for providing engineering and procurement support services in Petroleum Development Oman’s (PDO) northern concession areas. This agreement, announced by Worley on Monday, will cover three major projects in Northern Oman: Fahud, Lekhwair, and Yibal. The contract value was not disclosed, but Worley highlighted that it will be responsible for a broad range of project support, engineering, and procurement services.

Worley, an ASX-listed global engineering services company, will play a significant role in supporting PDO’s capital expenditure portfolio under this framework agreement. This portfolio includes both modifications to existing brownfield assets and the construction of new assets in the northern concession areas. The scope of work outlined in the agreement emphasizes that most of the services will focus on transitional or sustainable initiatives, reflecting PDO’s ongoing efforts to modernize and improve its infrastructure.

Worley’s Oman office will manage the execution of these services, ensuring local expertise and capabilities are utilized throughout the contract duration. This project represents an extension of Worley’s existing relationship with both GPS and PDO, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Oman’s energy sector through engineering innovation and sustainable solutions.

Chris Ashton, CEO of Worley, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating, "We’re pleased to support Gulf Petrochemical and build on our longstanding relationship with PDO through this framework agreement." He highlighted that the contract aligns with Worley’s strategy of delivering sustainable and efficient engineering solutions for the oil and gas sector.

Through this framework agreement, Worley aims to provide high-quality engineering solutions that not only meet PDO’s current needs but also contribute to the long-term sustainability and resilience of Oman’s energy sector. This partnership highlights both companies' shared commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainable development in the region's oil and gas industry.

Worley began as a small engineering consultancy in Australia over 50 years ago and takes great pride in its history and evolution. Instead of distancing itself from its history, Worley is leveraging its established reputation as a reliable engineering partner in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. The company is now focused on transitioning into a solutions provider, guiding its partners and societies towards a more sustainable future.

Worley is currently navigating the intersection of traditional and sustainable energy sources, actively supporting its customers in delivering the energy, chemicals, and resources that society requires today. The company's new brand direction underscores its commitment to leading the energy transition, fostering change, and creating a lasting impact. It also pays homage to Worley's history while embodying the values and ambitions that drive the organization toward a future defined by sustainability and innovation in all its endeavors.
