On November 3, VYNOVA, a prominent British chemical company, successfully resumed its production of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) in Tessenderlo, Belgium, following a scheduled maintenance and repair period. The Tessenderlo plant has a substantial production capacity of 740,000 tons of VCM. The maintenance and repair work carried out by VYNOVA was a part of its ongoing efforts to optimize plant operations and enhance efficiency. As part of this endeavor, the company has been working on increasing production levels and building strategic stock reserves.

A significant development that preceded this resumption involved VYNOVA's decision to lift the force majeure on the supply of products from the company's polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plants in Beek, the Netherlands, and Mazingarbe, France, on December 22, 2021. This move marked the conclusion of a force majeure situation that had been declared on May 3 of the same year due to technical issues at the Tessenderlo plant in Belgium. This particular plant, with its impressive VCM production capacity of 740,000 tons per year, was experiencing challenges that affected the overall supply chain, especially the provision of raw materials to downstream plants in the Netherlands and France. The Beek and Mazingarbe facilities have individual production capacities of 225,000 tons and 255,000 tons of PVC per year, respectively.

VYNOVA's successful resumption of VCM production in Tessenderlo, Belgium, marks a significant achievement within the petrochemical industry. The completion of scheduled maintenance and repairs ensures the continued functionality of a crucial facility with a substantial VCM production capacity. This achievement contributes to the stability of the global supply chain for chemical products and demonstrates VYNOVA's commitment to operational excellence.

The lifting of force majeure on the supply of products from the Beek and Mazingarbe PVC plants in the Netherlands and France is another noteworthy development. It signifies the resolution of challenges faced at the Tessenderlo plant and the restoration of full operational capacity at these downstream plants. The seamless supply of raw materials is essential to meeting market demands and maintaining efficient production processes.

Furthermore, VYNOVA's extensive network of PVC production facilities in Europe, including the Wilhelmshaven plant in Germany, underscores its pivotal role in providing essential chemical products to various markets. These facilities, with their significant production capacities, ensure a consistent supply of PVC to meet the diverse needs of industries and consumers.

VYNOVA's successful resumption of VCM production in Tessenderlo is a significant milestone in the petrochemical industry, emphasizing the importance of regular maintenance and repairs to ensure consistent production. The resolution of force majeure situations at downstream plants in the Netherlands and France reinforces the stability of the supply chain, and VYNOVA's role as a key player in the chemical industry is underscored by its extensive network of PVC production facilities.
