USDA Grants $2.2 Million at Mason City Ethanol Plant

On November 7, 2023, USDA announced that it will award a substantial grant of $2.2 million to Golden Grain Energy LLC, a biofuel plant located near Mason City, Iowa. This significant investment aims to bolster the availability of biofuels domestically, providing consumers with cleaner fuel options when they refuel their vehicles.

Golden Grain Energy's ethanol plant is set to receive this generous grant from the USDA Rural Development’s Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive program. Cindy Axne, Senior Advisor for Rural Development, shared that Pilot Travel Centers would also benefit from the infrastructure incentive plan. An additional sum of $481,768 has been allocated to help the company expand the sale of renewable fuels. The funds will be divided among various locations, further extending the network for renewable fuel distribution.
