TriMas, a global manufacturer of packaging, aerospace, and industrial products, has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of the aerospace division of GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik GmbH.

GMT Aerospace, based in Germany, specializes in the development and production of a wide array of tie-rods and rubber-metal anti-vibration systems. These critical components are utilized in both commercial and military aerospace applications, making GMT a key player in the industry. The acquisition, previously announced, integrates GMT Aerospace into the TriMas Aerospace group, creating a more comprehensive and robust offering for customers.

A key driver behind the acquisition is the opportunity to strengthen relationships with major European aerospace and defense Tier 1 suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Establishing a manufacturing presence in Europe through GMT Aerospace positions TriMas to better serve these critical customers and solidify its commitment to expanding its market reach.

Vitaliy Rusakov, Group President of TriMas Aerospace, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition. "We are thrilled to welcome the talented GMT Aerospace team to the TriMas family," he stated. "GMT Aerospace brings a wealth of highly-engineered products, along with advanced design and manufacturing expertise that perfectly complements our current portfolio. This synergy will enhance our overall offerings in the aerospace and defense sectors."

Rusakov emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion, stating, "This acquisition further solidifies our commitment to expanding our market presence and delivering innovative solutions to the aerospace industry."

Founded in 2006, GMT Aerospace has built a strong reputation for serving a diverse customer base, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers. In the fiscal year 2024, GMT Aerospace generated approximately €22 million in revenue, demonstrating its established market presence and financial strength.

The integration of GMT Aerospace's specialized products, particularly its tie-rods and anti-vibration systems, with TriMas Aerospace's existing portfolio of fasteners, precision-machined components, and air ducting products, creates a powerful combination. This expanded offering allows TriMas Aerospace to provide a more complete suite of solutions for its customers, addressing a wider range of needs within the aerospace industry.

Rusakov reiterated the company's commitment to growth and customer value. "We welcome the talented team from GMT Aerospace to the TriMas family of businesses,” he said. “Together, we look forward to driving continued growth and delivering exceptional value to our customers worldwide."

This acquisition represents a significant step forward for TriMas, solidifying its position as a leading provider of solutions to the aerospace industry.
