Trillion Energy International Inc. recently provided an update on its ongoing velocity string installation program at the SASB gas field. This update highlights recent progress in improving production across several wells.

On October 27, the company positioned a snubbing unit over the Akcakoca-3 well and successfully inserted 2 3/8-inch production tubing, known as a velocity string (VS), into the existing 4 ½-inch tubing. This operation, designed to enhance the well's production flow, was completed by October 29. Remarkably, the well continued to produce gas throughout the installation, with no interruptions. The initial impact of the velocity string installation has been positive: production from the Akcakoca-3 well increased from an average rate of 2.0 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) over the 27 days before the installation to an average of 2.6 MMcf/d during the first four days after the velocity string was set. Trillion Energy continues to monitor production levels to assess the longer-term impact.

On October 30, the snubbing unit was moved to the West Akcakoca-1 well, where another 2 3/8-inch velocity string was installed. This operation was completed by November 1, with the velocity string reaching a total measured depth of 3,496 meters. Unlike the Akcakoca-3 well, West Akcakoca-1 was not producing gas prior to this operation. However, with the velocity string in place, Trillion Energy expects production to resume after nitrogen stimulation is applied to the well. The company anticipates that this additional stimulation process will help reinitiate gas flow in the well, contributing to overall production levels at SASB.

Currently, Trillion Energy is running a velocity string into the Guluc-2 well. The overall goal of these installations is to address water loading issues commonly encountered in the SASB gas wells, which can impede gas production. Velocity strings help reduce this water buildup, allowing for more consistent and efficient gas flow.

By installing these strings, Trillion Energy aims to improve production rates across the field, potentially enhancing the long-term profitability of the SASB project. The company continues to monitor and evaluate the results from each well, with an eye on optimizing output across the field. This phased installation approach demonstrates Trillion's commitment to maximizing production at SASB through targeted technical upgrades, ultimately supporting the company’s strategic growth in gas production.

Trillion Energy International Inc. is dedicated to oil and natural gas production for Europe and Türkiye, holding natural gas assets in Türkiye. The company owns a 49% stake in the SASB natural gas field, a development located in the Black Sea, as well as a 19.6% interest in the Cendere oil field, with the exception of three wells where its interest is 9.8%.
