Syensqo, a global leader in advanced performance materials and chemical solutions, has unveiled Ryton® PPS XE-5000NA, a groundbreaking extrudable polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) technology designed to transform the performance and sustainability of piping materials. This innovation addresses the increasing demand for advanced piping solutions that can surpass the chemical, thermal, and pressure resistance of conventional materials like polyethylene and polyamide without compromising on processability or efficiency.

According to William Sattich, Principal Scientist for PPS at Syensqo, the new Ryton® PPS XE-5000 technology offers high-performance extrudable thermoplastic compounds with exceptional permeation resistance, far exceeding that of commonly used piping materials. "There is a growing need for new piping material solutions capable of exceeding the chemical, thermal, and pressure resistance of conventional polyethylene or polyamide resins without compromising processability or efficiency," Sattich explained. "Our advanced Ryton® PPS XE-5000 technology delivers these high-performance benefits, revolutionizing how the energy industry approaches piping solutions."

Ryton® PPS XE-5000 is engineered to provide a safe and proven solution for pipes operating in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. Its superior chemical and permeation resistance makes it a cost-effective and efficient choice for both traditional and emerging energy applications. This versatility positions it as a game-changer for industries like oil and gas, where high performance and durability are essential.

Mike O’Brien, Global Marketing Manager for Energy at Syensqo, emphasized the significance of the new material for non-metallic piping systems, particularly in key markets. “The new PPS XE grade expands the legacy of Ryton® into higher-performance non-metallic piping solutions. This meets customer demands in key markets, including oil and gas, as well as next-generation energy applications,” O’Brien stated.

The material’s excellent extrusion properties make it ideal for use in inner liners, stand-alone, and composite pipes. Syensqo's Ryton® PPS XE-5000NA is now commercially available worldwide, offering a significant step forward in sustainable, high-performance piping solutions for energy and other demanding industries.
