Syensqo, a global leader in materials science, and Ardent Process Technologies, a pioneering developer of membrane-based carbon capture and separation solutions, announced a partnership to driving innovation in carbon capture and olefin-paraffin separation process.
The core focus of the partnership lies in "point source carbon capture," a crucial process for mitigating climate change. This technology targets CO2 emissions directly at the source of production, such as industrial facilities, power plants, and other large-scale emitters, preventing their release into the atmosphere. By combining Syensqo's world-class materials science expertise and industrial-scale capabilities with Ardent's groundbreaking membrane-based carbon capture and olefin-paraffin separation solutions, the collaboration aims to significantly enhance the efficiency and scalability of these vital technologies.
Syensqo will provide specialized materials essential for the production of Ardent's high-performance membrane modules and systems, ensuring a reliable and high-quality supply chain. Beyond material supply, Syensqo has also demonstrated its confidence in Ardent's technology and growth potential through a direct investment in the company's Series A funding round.
"This partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to accelerate the energy transition," said Erica Nemser, CEO of Ardent. "Syensqo's commitment as an investor and now as a strategic supply chain partner not only validates our technology but also provides us with the industrial backbone needed to scale our solutions rapidly and reliably."
Peter Browning, President of the Specialty Polymers Business unit at Syensqo, emphasized the alignment of the partnership with Syensqo's broader sustainability goals. "Our partnership with Ardent aligns perfectly with our commitment to developing innovative and sustainable solutions that advance humanity," stated Browning. "By investing in and scaling breakthrough technologies that will play a crucial role in the global energy transition, we contribute to the development of vital solutions that will enable a sustainable future for all."
The immediate focus of the strategic partnership will be on scaling up production capabilities and fortifying the supply chain infrastructure necessary to meet the burgeoning market demand for Ardent’s innovative membrane solutions. Both Syensqo and Ardent are committed to remaining at the forefront of sustainable technology development and deployment, driving progress towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
To further explore the critical intersection of sustainability and business growth, Titta Rosvall-Puplett, Syensqo’s Chief Sustainability Officer, and Erica Nemser, Ardent’s CEO, will participate in a virtual roundtable discussion on February 13, from 2-3 PM CET. Hosted in collaboration with Hello Tomorrow and Genopole, the discussion will delve into actionable strategies for integrating advanced technologies and highlight how sustainability can be a powerful driver of business growth.
