In a move that will create a pigment industry giant, Sudarshan Chemical Industries Limited (SCIL) announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Germany-based Heubach Group. This transaction involves both asset and share purchases and is anticipated to close within three to four months, pending regulatory approval.

This acquisition will merge SCIL's operational expertise with Heubach's technology. The deal will be monumental in creating a global pigment giant with a presence across 19 countries. The operations will be carried out from SCIL headquarters in Mumbai, while Heubach Group’s headquarters Frankfurt would remain an important strategic location.

Rajesh Rathi, Managing Director of SCIL expressed his pleasure with the merger in a presser. "We are delighted with this transaction that brings together two businesses that will cater to major global markets. We will carefully integrate these two companies to create a truly global pigments company,” he said. Rathi further added that “SCIL is known for its agility and efficiency, and we will embed this culture throughout the combined company to make it one of the most customer-centric and profitable pigment companies.”

Bram D’hondt from Heubach too echoed the same sentiment and said, “By joining hands with SCIL, we aim to reclaim our 200+ years of legacy of serving customers with high quality products. Together, we will shape the future of the pigments industry by building on the ethos of customer centricity and product excellence. Our combined capabilities will enable us to serve our customers better. We look forward to working with SCIL as we enter this next chapter.”

With this acquisition, SCIL will establish itself as a leading global pigment supplier. It’s product portfolio is set to expand exponentially, with gaining significant financial strength and profitability.

Looking forward, this acquisition positions the pigment giant to become a leader in its industry. With a strong focus on customer centricity, a broad product portfolio, and a skilled management team, the future looks bright for SCIL.

With a 200-year legacy, Heubach is recognized for its high-quality products and for serving a wide array of blue-chip clients in industries including coatings, plastics, inks, automotive, electrical, and electronics. Operating 17 manufacturing sites worldwide, the company has achieved over €1 billion in revenue for the past two fiscal years. Despite recent financial challenges, SCIL has outlined a clear turnaround strategy as part of its acquisition plan, aiming to restore Heubach's financial health and further strengthen its market position.
