SPOD Lithium Corp. has announced the successful completion of a second phase field program on its MegaLi and Lithium Grande 4 properties. These properties encompass six claim blocks located next to Patriot Battery Metals Inc.'s Corvette project in the James Bay region of Quebec, Canada. In addition to its Quebec projects, SPOD is also actively exploring its promising projects in Ontario.

Mathieu Couillard, CEO of SPOD, stated, “We are very pleased with the results of our 2024 program. We have confirmed the presence of multiple pegmatites on our properties and validated the continuity of our 2023 lithium findings. We have also identified that the geology of blocks ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘D’ is similar to the Corvette trend, where pegmatites are found in amphibolite. Notably, the northern contact of Block ‘C’, where we’ve discovered a significant spodumene-bearing pegmatite, is of particular interest due to its proximity to Patriot’s CV5 deposit. We will plan future exploration, including mechanical stripping and drilling, once we have results from soil and channel samples.”

The ExploLogik team, which provides exploration services to the Company, has collected a total of 452 soil samples. These samples are intended to achieve two goals: identifying spodumene-bearing phases within the known pegmatite and testing the ground approximately 3 km along strike from the initial target.

On Block “C” of the MegaLi project, 321 soil samples were collected along the pegmatite trend, covering an area of approximately 1.7 km by 4.8 km. Additionally, 12 channel samples totaling 12 meters were taken to provide more continuous sampling over 1-meter intervals, targeting lithium anomalies and low K/Rb ratios below 20 identified during the 2023 campaign.

For reference, Patriot’s CV5 spodumene deposit is situated approximately 5 km north of the Block “C” pegmatite, following a parallel structural trend. Observations on Block “C” so far suggest that its crystallization texture and structural relationships are similar to other spodumene-bearing pegmatites found in the James Bay area. The CV5 mineral resource estimate (MRE) has solidified it as the largest lithium pegmatite resource in the Americas and the eighth largest globally, with a maiden mineral resource estimate of 109.2 million tons at 1.42% Li2O.

The remaining 131 soil samples were distributed across Lithium Grande 4 Block “A,” Block “D,” and Block “E,” located 7 km north, 12 km east, and 15 km east of Patriot’s CV5, respectively. Block “A” yielded a series of rocks with notable Rb enrichment and low K/Rb ratios below 30. The objective of the soil sampling program is to identify spodumene-bearing pegmatites that might be concealed beneath the overburden. Block “D” is of particular interest as it features a high density of pegmatite dikes, though this density is constrained by the availability of outcrops.
